Gaming Headlines: 1/19/10

Crazy day for news! Rumors of controller names, buyouts and franchises. God of War III, Crackdown 2 and more, make me weep that I have to wait for their releases.  If you find any of these stories interesting, let me know what you think in our comments section

1. If rumors hold true, Sony’s motion controller may well be called the Arc. Which is quite a bit better than the name Stick Bulb. (VG247)
2. I probably spent 5 hours playing the Crackdown 1 demo and history will likely repeat itself since Ruffian has announced Crackdown 2 WILL have a demo before launch. (IGN)
3. Reportedly Sqaure-Enix is looking to buy another developer, or publisher, to go along with their very stylish Eidos purchase. (gamesindustry)
4. Rare is teasing fans that after Perfect Dark for XBLA, they’ll like have another library title in the pipe. (CVG)
5. God of War III may be the end of the trilogy, but don’t cry, it won’t be the end of the franchise (Joystiq)
6. Those who care enough about Mass Effect 2 to purchase the game new, will be treated with free DLC that renters, or 2nd hand players will have to pay for. (Destructoid)
7. Konami producer David Cox has said that PS3 is the lead platform for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, but that both versions will be identical (Twitter)
8. Turn 10 is saying unsurprisingly that they’re interested in Natal support for upcoming Forza titles. (G4)
9. As if the Pandora’s Box wasn’t enough to get the special edition of God of War III, it will also feature a documentary on the series, hosted by Robocop’s Peter Weller! (Eurogamer)
10. NPD has announced that Wii Play is the best selling game of all-time. Maybe that means we’ll see a Wii Play 2? (Gamespot)
11. Sports fans may never leave their 360s if rumors hold true that ESPN will be offering a subscription streaming service on the console. (Engadget)
12. Dishwasher Dead Samurai & I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!!! developer Ska Studios is creating a new game for XBL Indie games called: Charlie Murder. (Ska Studios)
13. Pre-order Bioshock 2 Special Edition for PS3 and you’ll be able to outfit your Home avatar in Big Daddy duds. (Amazon)
14. Section 8 DLC has dropped on Xbox 360. Pick up the Seek and Destroy Map Pack if you’re a fan of the shooter (Destructoid)
