Gaming Headlines: 1/03/10

The only news story I needed today was the THQ game announcements, but yet there’s more! If you find any of these stories interesting, let me know what you think in our comments section

  1. THQ has announced in an invester’s call most of their upcoming line-up. Sequels to Saints Row, Red Faction, Darksiders and De Blob are on the way. Also announced were Home Front and Warhammer Space Marines. (Twitter)
  2. May 2010 will see a new game from High Voltage for the Wii. The new title is called Tournament of Legends and is a gladitorial combat fighting game.
  3. A rumor states that Nintendo may be announcing a new piece of hardware at GDC and that devs are already working on games for it. (videogamer)
  4. Sqaure-Enix has announced a release date for NIER  in the US and that date is April 27th. (Destructoid)
  5. THQ also called the PS3’s motion controller Arc, in their upcoming financial call. With so many references to that name at this point, it seems like we’ll all have to get used to saying Arc. (VG247)
  6. Bioware has stated that the reason there’s PS3 code in Mass Effect 2 is because the game is made on Unreal Engine, not because it’s coming to PS3. (Bioware Social Network)
  7. WB has stated that the inventive Scriblenauts has sold a million units! (Destructoid)
  8. Battlefield Bad Company 2 will finally blow up its lack of demo situation on PS3. The demo should be hitting Thursday. (Destructoid)
  9. The Sadness has been a highly anticipated Wii title since around or before launch, but it seems like the game may never come out. The game’s official website has closed down. (Go Nintendo)

And I leave you with a fan made Final Fight movie trailer:
