Gaming Headlines: 2/11/10
Crazy amounts of news today, most of it being from the X10 event. But even if you don’t have an Xbox 360, there’s still good news to be found. If you find any of these stories interesting, let me know what you think in our comments section
- Dead Rising will be getting a 360 exclusive prologue called CASE ZERO. The game will be hitting store shelves in the US Aug. 31 & Sept. 3 in EU. (Major Nelson)
- PlayStation The Official Magazine has revealed that inFAMOUS 2 is in development and will take place “a significant time after the first game, offering a reshaped metropolis”. (Destructoid)
- Halo Reach’s multiplayer beta will be available for Halo ODST oEdit Post ‹ Game Yay Fun! — WordPresswners on May 3rd. I’ll see you online! (Major Nelson)
- Fable 3 will be out this holiday and will have you taking out a corrupt king and then becoming a king yourself. Can you be more loved than the last ruler? (Major Nelson)
- Game mag PSM3 says that Killzone 3 info will be coming out in the next few months. They also say to expect the brutal shooter sequel this fall. (CVG)
- Splinter Cell Conviction will be stealth killing game retailers April 13th in the US and April 16th in the UK. (Major Nelson)
- The mysterious Alan Wake will be coming out on May 18th in the US and May 21st in EU. (Major Nelson)
- Akrids beware, Lost Planet 2 will invade our planet in both the US and EU on May 18th for Xbox 360. (Major Nelson)
- Microsoft’s Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 bundle will be out Mar. 9 for $399. The console will have a 250 gig HD, 2 wireless controllers, avatar dlc & a standard copy of the game. (Major Nelson)
- The Xbox 360 Block Party Xbox Live event in March will see the release of Game Room as well as XBLA titles Toy Soldiers, Scrap Metal & Perfect Dark. (Major Nelson)
- New DLC for both Left 4 Dead & Left 4 Dead 2 will be arriving this March or April. (Destructoid)
- Buy World of Warcraft mount plushies and get the in-game versions for free. (worldofwarcraft)
- The time bending FPS title Singularity will hit our timeline on June 1st. (Gamestop)
- Activision swung a big axe this week, closing both Red Octane, Luxofulx and Underground Development. Lay offs also hit Neversoft and Radical Entertainment. This is terrible news for gamers and obviously those that lost their jobs. We wish them even better futures for their careers and our sympathies for all that’s occured. (Kotaku)
