Gaming Headlines: 2/19/10
New Kingdom Hearts and Hitman games are talked about, Platinum Games latest is dated and more news today. I’m the most excited about the Hitman news, as it’s been way too long since there’s been and entry in the series. If you find any of these stories interesting, let me know what you think in our comments section
- Is David Jaffe working on a new Twisted Metal? Well on the latest episode of 4Guys1Up, he stated that his next game will feature vehicles that do more than just drive. Rumors have been circulating for over a year that Eat Sleep Game has been making a Twisted Metal follow up and since Jaffe has worked on the franchise before, this seems like a believable scenario. - I never thought it would happen, but if the ESRB is correct, there will be a sequel to PixelJunk Racers. The ESRB’s website has a listing for PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap. (Destructoid)
- Buy a PSPgo before March 21st and get a free game. What free game? The amazing Little Big Planet or the ruthless Asssassin’s Creed. (PlayStation Blog)
- After previously stating that Sony should scrap the PS3 and start over and that they had no interest in developing for the platform, it seems they may be changing their tune. The writer for Left 4 Dead has stated that he’s sure Valve will develop for PS3 in the future. (EDGE)
- Yakuza 3 may not be out in the US yet, but Yakuza 4 is almost out in Japan. We’ve put the new trailer at the bottom of this news post and it looks incredile! Let’s hope 3 sells well enough for us to see 4 as well!
- Rolando 3 isn’t going to come out on iPhone. At least not in the same way Rolando 1 & 2. Since ngmoco has moved to a free-to-play model, they scrapped the in development sequel. (IGN)
- Strategy title Greed Corp is coming to XBLA and PSN next week!. (Destructoid)
- 3D Dot Game Heroes will have an optional hard drive install, so the choice to reduce load times is up to you. (Destructoid)
- New info on the upcoming Prison Break game has come out and it looks like you’ll be playing a member of The Company, sent into Prison to interact with the cast of the show. (Destructoid)
- Remedy’s Oskari Hakkinen has stated that Remedy has no plans to revisit the Max Payne series, but is sure that Rockstar will make a good game. (VG247)
- Gamestop has stated that the first Heavy Rain downloadable episode will no longer be available on launch day due to a delay by the publisher. If you have pre-ordered from Gamestop though, that DLC will be free to you when it does arrive. (GameStop)
