Zelda team pressured by Monster Hunter Tri, Cliffy B bumped for a teen pop star, MGS Peace Walker goes tie-in crazy and more! If you find any of these stories interesting, let me know what you think in our comments section

  1. The Zelda team is “under pressure” as Iwata put it to try and match the graphics quality of Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii. I’m not sure if they’ll end up accomplishing that, but if the Zelda team can’t match the graphics, maybe the Nintendo published Xenoblades will be able to, since that game looks like sex currently. (1up)
  2. Cliff Blezinki’s Late Night With Jimmy Fallon appearance has been delayed! The appearance is supposed to feature him showing off a new game, so I’m disappointed that teen pop star Justin Bieber has bumped Cliffy (seemingly). I don’t really know who Justin Bieber is in my world, but I resent the way his eyes in his press photos look at me “doingly”.(Destructoid)
  3. Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker will have oodles of game and product tie-ins. Some of them are pretty hilarious, so I suggest checking out the list. (IGN)
  4. Manga Entertainment will be bringing out the Professor Layton anime in the west. I haven’t seen the anime, but I picture it playing out like Scooby Doo with no dog and more British accents. (ANN)
  5. Femanized versions of game consoles has been an internet thing for a while now, but soon it will be in an actual game! Compile Heart is making an RPG that has PS3, 360, Wii and a mystery platform (PC?) versions of female leads. There are also game companies represented by characters as well. Not sure if this game will ever release outside of Japan, but I’m sure images from the game will be used on gaming forums for quite some time. (Canned Dogs)
  6. Quantum Theory is delayed again! This time it’s been given and Summer 2010 release window. I’m one of the few people actually excited about this game, so regardless of when it comes out, I will be playing it. (PlayStation LifeStyle)
  7. A music rhythm strategy RPG is in the works for the 360 and the creator would like extra financial backing. Donate 4 dollars and get the game for free, donate more and get your name in the credits. Someone should get Game Yay Fun in the credits! (Destructoid)
  8. The producer for Battlefield Bad Company 2 has left DICE to work for Visceral Games. The move was made so he could be closer to family. Regardless of studio change, he still works for EA since both studios are under the EA umbrella. (Blast)
  9. Dark Void Zero will now be available to those without a DSi. It’s coming to iPhone and PC on April 12th. I still want to get it for the DS, but I’m going to wait until the 3DS comes out, because I likely won’t be able to transfer DSi titles between machines. (Capcom Unity)
  10. Star Trek Online won’t be coming to consoles (at least not anytime soon). The reasoning is more to do with business models then system capabilities. There are so many MMOs planned for this gen of consoles, will any not called Final Fantasy ever hit? (Videogamer)
  11. SEGA’s Mike Hayes said that he thinks MadWorld was a mismatch with the Wii audience and that it’s too bad the game got critical praise, but low sales.  (CVG)
  12. Sony has trademarked game titles “Kung Fu Rider” and “The Shoot”. We already know that The Shoot is their Move shooting title, but I have no idea what Kung Fu Rider is. (superannuation)
  13. Europe will now be getting Alan Wake a bit ahead of the US. Europe will receive Remedy’s latest on May 14, while the US will have to wait for the 21st. (Destructoid)*

I didn’t check out the Metroid trailer until after I posted it. That looks so bad ass!

  2. Gil says:

Could Kung Fu Rider possibly be the downhill chair riding game from the preview video you did?

  3. Razlo says:

I thought about that, but that was called Slider. It’s possible they changed the name though. Even though you flail more so then do Kung Fu.

  4. That trailer was great! I’m glad Metroid is returning to its side-scrolling roots… the FPS/SS switch looks to be pretty cool tech, can’t wait to try it.

  5. Razlo says:

Yeah, I know it’s not the popular opinion, but I have a feeling it may end up being my favorite Metroid if it turns out as cool as it looks.
