Gaming Headlines: 4/08/10

Crazy news today! Gears of War 3 leaks, Pokemon Black & White on the way and DeathSpank creator leaves Hothead before game finishes and more!  If you find any of these stories interesting, let me know what you think in our comments section

1. So you know how Cliff Bleszinki was going to show off a new game from Epic on Jimmy Fallon Thursday? Well since he got pushed to Monday, that didn’t happen. But it appears someone at MS forgot to change the ad along with the Fallon date change. An ad for Gears of War 3 appeared on Xbox Live saying that the game would be out April 2011! Even if it’s a mistake, that’s a crazy unveil! I certainly didn’t expect GoW 3′s release date to be revealed pre-E3. We’ll have to wait until Monday’s Late Night to see gameplay, but I’m already psyched!  (Kotaku)
2. Apple has announced that the next version of their iPhone OS will include folders, multitasking and best of all Game Center. What is Game Center? Well it’s basically Xbox Live for iPhone. You’ll have unified Leaderboards, Friendslist and Achievements. I can’t wait! This is something I’ve wanted on the iPhone for quite some time now. Good to see Apple taking gaming seriously! 3. Pokemon Black and White are due sometime this year (at least in Japan) and will be unveiled shortly in Japan. I hope they still use the Pokewalker. (Destructoid)
4. A for pay, enhanced version of Bejeweled Blitz will be hitting the Pop Cap Store for $19.95. The game will have enhanced presentation and a full-screen mode. It will retain all the features of the Facebook version. (Destructoid)
5. Gaming visionary Ron Gilbert has left Hothead games before DeathSpank is even finished! He didn’t say why he left, but claims that bug fixes and certification are all that remains on the game. I’m not sure if this is a bad sign for the game, but it certainly isn’t a good PR move for DeathSpank. (MTV Multiplayer)
6. EDGE rumors that Gears of War 3 will have underwater sections, tentacles Locusts, bombs that travel underground to hit enemies on the other side of cover and a COG mech suit! All that sounds cool to me, I can’t wait for Monday’s unveil! (EDGE)
7. Capcom sent to the press a promotional Barrel filled with Poison’s spray on hair color (“For men, women, and everything in between”), a “Re-Elect Mike Haggar For Mayor” shirt, a golden coin, one side featuring art from Final Fight, the other from Magic Sword, Three pins, including a “Mike Haggar for Mayor” pin, a cassette tape featuring remixed Final Fight and Magic Sword music that will release in the game. Best of all? Final Fight and Magic Sword fans will actually be able to buy one of these press kits for themselves soon on Capcom’s site!!! (Capcom Unity)
8. A Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker PSP bundle will be hitting the US, so if you needed a new PSP and wanted it MGS themed, this seems like the perfect match! I wonder if it ups your stealth rating? (Destructoid)
9. Mega 64 will be putting out their next DVD compilation of released and unreleased skits on May 28. It will be called Mega 64 Version 3 and will include a musical episode. (Mega 64)
10. Tim Tebow will be the cover athlete for EA’s NCAA Football 11. The athlete will likely not be nude on the game’s cover. (ESPN)
11. Atlus has released some secret passwords for unlockable demons in Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey. If you have the game, follow the link to get the demon hook up! (Destructoid)
12. A NeoGAF user made a pretty awesome looking Mega Man out of Mega Man screenshots. It’s worth a look for sure! (NeoGAF)
