Shown in trailer and confirmed:
- Four player co-op
- Anya Stroud is now a playable character (you may remember her from previous Gears games, typically as your advisor)
- Lambent are the new enemy type that fight COG and Locust soldiers alike (and pull you out of cover, along with mutate and transform)
- Dom is having serious issues dealing the loss of his wife
- The location shown in the trailer is nicknamed “Char”, where the remains of victims from the Hammer of Dawn strikes are heavily present
- There is a new shotgun that does more damage, but has less range
- The characters are sporting new armor
Not Shown in trailer, but confirmed:
- Co-op includes Marcus, Dom, Cole, Baird and a “variety of other characters”. At some points in the game you will play as an entirely different squad (that includes no Marcus and no Dom)
- The story is written by Karen Traviss (wrote the Gears of War book series)
- Gears 3 takes place 18 months after Gears 2
- The Locusts have not been seen since the time Gears 2 ends to the start of Gears 3
- Imulsion is infecting everything, not just the Locust
What isn’t shown in the trailer, or confirmed yet that you’d like to see in Gears 3? I’m pulling for a reverse Capcom tie-in!

Never really been one for the creepy games but the gameplay aspects of Gear1 made it awesome. Gonna have to try out Gears2 before this drops. Hope the Vs got better.
